My mom's1st visit was good. Dr Mason is great. But this visit I was told to wait in the waiting area and they would call me back when my mom was done with her procedure. Instead. The INCONSIDERATE people sent her out on her own without evening calling concerned family members back to all questions or anything else. I AM P@$$$D to say the least. So be sure to tell them to CALL YOU BACK AFTER YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS PROCEDURE!!!!!

I agree with the terrible reviews. Here now with my grandma.... Care is horrible. They won't get her more pain killers and they just leave needles and blood laying around. See my pic.

My mother went to the ER last night complaining of chest pains. We waited 1.5 hours before been seen by a Dr. would give a 1 but the nurses that saw her were great. A friend who works there told me that management has changed how the ER runs and no one working like it either.

This hospital shouldn’t even be licensed to provide medical care. My significant other was down south for business when he was on the phone with me and he had severe abdominal pain that had a sudden onset, was continuous and lasted more two hours, and was a sharp and consistent pain. I convinced him to go to the nearest emergency room available, which unfortunately was this one. I have an EMT background, just completed a full course to become a pharmacy technician, have been associated with medical science since high school, and the symptoms he described to me were all top priority medical emergencies. Upon walking into the emergency room, he spoke to the receptionist and conveyed the severity of the symptoms and asked to see a doctor immediately because the pain was so bad. Beforehand, I called another urgent care clinic and spoke to a nurse, as well as an ambulatory service and spoke to an EMT relaying his symptoms and both confirmed they were 911 worthy calls and were top priority as far as emergency and immediate care. After relaying the symptoms to the receptions, he was then told to wait in the waiting room for as long as two hours. Mind you, he had to basically nag the receptionist for a room. Because of my medical background, there are several lawsuits waiting to happen for this hospital, one of them including neglect for a patient. Once the symptoms were described a room should have been MADE for him due to the conditions associated with his symptoms that should have made him a priority. It could have been as far as an aortic aneurysm and he could have had congestive heart failure at any moment for all they knew, which is why abdominal pain is taken seriously and requires immediate treatment. Basically refusing him treatment and neglecting the severity of the situation and being unable to prioritize patients, we both could have filed a lawsuit against this hospital for the lack of care and neglect shown on behalf of the staff. This hospital is a joke to healthcare and is going to make a patient very rich one day, saying this in the hopes of it doesn’t cost someone their life.

This hospital is a joke. I went in for an emergency FIVE HOURS later I still hadn't been seen so I left and went to Riverside. Riverside got me in right away, monitored, etc. you know, things hospitals are supposed to do. So today I got a bill from Sentara for MORE than my bill from riverside. The hospital that actually did something and saw me. $300 for sitting in the waiting room? Please. Not only that apparently Sentara wouldn't have been able to help me anyways (pregnancy related) so why wasn't I told that BEFORE CHECKING IN? Disgusting pathetic excuse for a hospital.
