My second snake just passed away... I'm never buying from Pet World again.

I forgot to mention all the dead fish just floating around in the aquariums.
Will tell you lies to get your money, even if you've been a loyal customer for years.
Store stinks. My 8 years old granddaughter is heartbroken. She bought 2 "feeder" goldfish. One died the first day and the second died the next day. I feel somebody should have warned her that there was no warranty on them. Apparently because they were feeder fish. Who knows. She has a gold fish as a gift and it has lived 5 days so far. Not going back.

I love the fact that it FEELS like a pet shop, and not some polished ,stamped die cut chain store. Maybe that's why they also have great prices! I will go their to support them as much as I can
I bought a baby corn snake from the Hampton Pet World and it only lasted 6 days, because it was sick. They gave us another one for free and it's the 10th day and it has symptoms of IBD. I have no other reptiles and I cleaned everything before getting the second snake, so there is no way it wasn't sick before I got it. The first and second snake were around the same age. When I bought the first snake, it was the last one there. When I got the second one, it was the last one too, so it should've have gotten sick.
However, I would never set foot in this store again.
they have a nice selection of aquatics and supplies especially , and from what I can tell their prices are much lower than the major chains. all the fish I bought from their were healthy, and are still kicking strong. they also have a nice selection of tanks, stands, pumps, ornamental etc.. Their tanks really have GREAT prices.
This store sells purebred dogs, kept in tiny cages. With so many shelter dogs that are homeless and euthanized daily, I didn't think anyone even sold dogs in pet stores anymore.
I spend about $200 a month on pet supplies and would prefer to shop at a small business.
When I asked the staff about the dogs, and the possibility of puppy mills, they were very rude and extremely obnoxious. They yelled at me in the store, and continued to yell as I left with my two daughters, ages 7 and 9. I teach elementary school, and do not see this type of rude, immature behavior from 9-11 year old children.
